The PS4 Remote Play protocol uses following ports Let's say your PS4 has an internal private IP-Address like this 192.168.2.132. As I already mentioned, your router has a unique public IP which is reachable from outside, therefore you must learn your router to which device inside your network he should forward connections if he gets some requests on some specific ports. This is where port forwarding comes into play, in your case you want to connect from outside your network at home to your PS4 inside. Luckily the router at home knows all the private IP-Addresses of your devices inside your network and can even reach them of course. The only device which has (usually) a public IP and is reachable from everywhere is your router. From outside your network at home no one can just simply connect to a device inside because the private IP-Addresses are not reachable. The devices inside your network have private IP-Addresses and these are only valid inside your home network. You can think of the router as a guard which sits between your devices at home and the internet. All of them are connected to the internet via your router. When you think of your network at home you have probably a lot of different devices in there, like PCs, Smartphones or TVs. When you are in a different network (WiFi) or when you are using mobile internet connection (LTE) you can't just connect to a device (your PS4) in your home network. It doesn't work because you have to configure port forwarding on your router at home. Do some research about IP and stuff but tbh i didnt know a damn thing about those stuff. I tried with wifi from my work, 4G but still cant connect to my ps4. But for some reason i can only play it when im using the same wifi connection.
